| George
Glumac is the owner and co-ordinator of SHC Markets & Events,
specialising in annual events that focus on the promotion of local
tourism offering products from local and interstate crafts people
and artisans.
Originally,
the focus was on the successful operation of the Thirlmere Rail
Craft Market and what was the largest monthly market, Southern Highlands
Country Fair, which was held at the Moss Vale Showground.
Due
to the changing economy and the ever increasing numbers of markets
starting up, George, like many market organisers experienced a decline
in the number of visitors and stallholders and made the change to
co-ordinating larger events. |

| George's
Background |
| His
many years of involvement in markets began as a market stallholder,
making and selling jewellery at many of the markets in the Southern
Highlands and surrounding areas. George started running markets in
1998 when he was asked to take over the operation of the very popular
Buxton Rail Market. |
Since
then George’s markets have become popular destinations for
visitors from Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Canberra and even further.
He has pre-planned coach tour itineraries, available on request,
for social groups and family outings, which take in the local attractions,
craft outlets and of course the markets. |
| As
George says ... |
“Here
in the Southern Highlands, we pride ourselves on the quality of
our local crafts people, many of whom can be found at our events’. |
